Thank you for visiting our wonderful website. My name is Lorene Hurd and I’m very proud to be the principal of Sunnybrae Normal School.
Our vision is to be an inclusive school living our values and maximising the potential of all. He kura mākoha e ū anaki ōna mātāpono, e akiaki ana I ngā tamariki kia eke panukuto. Our staff take seriously their responsibility to instil our values of Respect, Independence, Cooperation and Excellence into all of our students.
We are well known for the quality of teaching, caring atmosphere, responsive learning environment, multicultural flavour and additional opportunities offered to our children.
As a school in a beautiful Auckland suburb, we create opportunities for our students to engage in academic, sporting and cultural experiences. We are surrounded by a community full of supportive parents, children who are eager to learn as well as outstanding staff members. We utilise sound, well-researched teaching and learning practices, supported by a strong local curriculum, relevant to the needs of students in years 0 to 6.
We work closely with our parents and caregivers to identify the potential that is
within every student, providing them with the means to succeed as lifelong learners.
The success of our school begins with creating a safe environment, where we encourage excellence and model positive relationships. We value parent partnership, effective governance, community involvement, creativity and fun.
I would like to welcome you to come for a tour of our lovely school. My invitation is for this Auckland North Shore primary school to become your school.
