We are aware that parking around the school can sometimes be difficult. You may like to consider parking in either Northgrove Avenue or Ellen Ave and meeting your child at these entrances after school.

Please do not use the shop parking opposite the school for school pick up and drop offs.

We are now seeking expressions of interest for a Cricket Blitz team to represent Sunnybrae Normal School. The competition runs every Friday evening from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Onewa Domain 2.This Cricket Blitz competition is for Year 4, 5 and 6 players with 6-8  players per team.

This programme is free of charge and is run by the Takapuna District Cricket Club. We do not need to supply coaches or managers.  However, we do need at least one adult to supervise at the games, so if you are available to do this, please advise on the notice that your child can collect from, Room 17.

The children will play in their Sunnybrae PE T-shirt, black shorts and sports shoes. They can wear batting gloves if they would like.

Please have your child collect a notice from Room 17; Ms Sheryle Snellaert

Flippa Ball

We are now seeking expressions of interest for Term 2, 3 & 4 for Flippa Ball.

Flippa Ball is most commonly known as ‘Mini Water Polo’. The game is a water based sport and is a great way for kids to be active while building confidence when in the water. The game is for Primary aged school children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The sport is played in a shallow pool (1.2m – 1.3m deep) and uses a range of ball skills, swimming and teamwork.

Flippa Ball is a great stepping stone into Water Polo with kids learning the basic skills needed to take on the deep water in Intermediate and Club level.

Location: AUT Millennium (Antares Place, Mairangi Bay)

Time and Day: Times vary between 1:00pm and 7:00pm on Sunday afternoons.

Game duration: Games consist of 2 x 8 minute halves. There is a 1minute break at half time in which teams switch ends.

League Duration and Times: The League runs for a total of 8 weeks each term. No games during school holidays/public holidays.

Should your child have an interest in Flippa Ball, Ms Snellaert will hold a meeting on Wednesday 3 March. We look forward to seeing your child join and extend on their swimming and team skills.

Year 4-6 Netball (Junior Netties)

Ms Snellaert will be holding a meeting at morning tea for those students who would like to represent Sunnybrae in Netball.

These games will be played at Westlake Girls High School on Saturday mornings. Game times will depend on the draw, however normally runs from 8:30am – 12:00pm.

Junior netties is open to both female and male players, an awesome game to showcase your quick footwork, ball skills combined with teamwork!

Meeting will be held Friday 5 March at morning tea, Room 17; Ms Snellaert.

Touch Rugby Season Kicks Off! – Sunnybrae has entered three teams in the Kaipatiki Junior Module  – a Year 3/4 team and two Year 5/6 teams. Well done to the Year 3/4 players who, for many, are giving a new sport a great go, and to the Year 5/6 players for playing hard and having fun. Thank you so much to the coaches, managers and parents for all their support so far.
