They will need to have suitable shoes to run on the footpaths as well as their SNS PE shirt (if they have one) to change into before running. Any necessary medication e.g. asthma inhalers, will also need to be handed into the school office. Students will be responsible for carrying these when they run. If you require any further information, please contact your child’s teacher. Race day will Thursday 17 August at 1:30 pm.

PTA UPDATE:
Join the PTA

The PTA would love to encourage more parents to come along and help in any capacity that you can. The Sunnybrae Normal School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are currently seeking parents willing to help at school fundraising events.

This is an opportunity to meet parents already involved with fundraising for the school, and how you can volunteer to help the Sunnybrae community and its students.
> Come and find out how your children already benefit from the PTA.
> No commitment to attend all meetings.
> Be a friend of the PTA.
> Provide us with feedback.
> Share new ideas for fundraising.

Please send an email to office@sunnybrae.school.nz to register your interest for our next meeting.

Storage Containers
We have ten 20L plastic bottles with lids that have held Chlorine from the pool, available for anyone to take home and use. Please email Piyal Ranasinghe, our caretaker at caretaker@sunnybrae.school.nz if you would like any. Pick up from the school.

Enrolments
In Zone Enrolment
If you live ‘in zone’ and have a child turning 5 this year, please make sure you enrol your child/children as soon as possible. Please also encourage any new ‘in zone’ families to enrol their children as this helps us with future planning. Please visit our website www.sunnybrae.school.nz and complete the enrolment form.
If you are moving away from Sunnybrae, please contact the office as soon as possible.

REMINDER:
Contact with Your Child’s Teacher
Your child’s teacher is your first point of contact should you have any questions.  Hopefully by now you’ll have had a number of opportunities to meet and connect with them.

The best way to contact your child’s classroom teacher is through Seesaw or email.  Please let us know if you have not yet been able to connect via Seesaw, and we can get this sorted for you. The power of the partnership between parents and teachers is immeasurable. We also have a strong Learning Leader Team should you need further advice. Do not hesitate to contact the Principal or one of our Deputy Principals should you have a question beyond the scope of your child’s classroom teacher or Learning Leader. We want you to feel supported as a whanau, parent/caregiver.

Kind regards
Lorene Hurd,
Principal
SUNNYBRAE NORMAL SCHOOL

REMINDER:
Please note that all children are to be collected from school by 3.00 pm. If you are unable to collect before this time, you may be interested in booking your child into the YMCA after-school club held in the hall.
