Wig Wednesday Fundraiser
On Wednesday the 6th September, Sunnybrae is taking part in Wig Wednesday to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Taking part is easy. All you have to do is simply wear a wig, style a funky hairdo, wear bright colourful clothes and bring in a Gold Coin. Our support this Wig Wednesday will go a long way in helping Kiwi children with cancer, as well as their whānau during the toughest time of their lives. Please bring a gold coin and hand to your classroom teacher on Wednesday morning.

Whole School Assembly
To coincide with Wig Wednesday, our Whole School Assembly will be held on Wednesday 6th September, so that we can all come together and celebrate our students achievements.
Please make your way to the School Hall at 2.15pm.  All welcome.

School Photos
Photolife class and individual school photos are being taken on Tuesday 12 September.

Please remember to send your child to school wearing the correct school uniform. It must be either the black collared long sleeve polo shirt or the yellow short sleeved polo shirt with collar. No polar fleece jackets or sweatshirts can be worn for the photos.
Sibling photo request forms will be sent home today so please check your child’s school bag. If you are wanting a group photo of all your children, the form must be returned to the office by Monday 11 September.

Ordering of photos will be online. See www.photolife.co.nz for more details.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:
Fire Drill
As part of our ongoing monitoring of our Emergency Procedures, we had a Fire Drill in the morning of Tuesday 29 March. The fire bell announcement was made, children lined up outside in their respective areas where a roll count was taken. These drills also test our indoor and outdoor speakers ensuring emergency announcements can be heard. This drill took 3 minutes and 43 seconds to complete. Following the drill and the ‘all clear’ announcement was made, teachers completed a debrief document with their class.

SPORTS UPDATE:
Basketball Success at Sunnybrae

Tuesday was finals day for the Semester 1 Basketball competition.
Sunnybrae had two Year 3/4 teams in grand finals – Jets coached by Campbell Marsters and Magic coached by Tina Pirie.

The Jets – Persephone, Isla, Ammon, Ryuji, Marley, Nikau and Madelyn played against the Campbells Bay Heat, being beaten in a hard-fought game to be second in their grade.

The Magic – Noah, Henry, Hank, Joseph, Kian, Levi and Daniel played the Belmont Primary Bucks in an exciting, cliff-hanger game, winning their grade for this semester.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all coaches and managers for all their hard work and time during the semester 1 competition, we couldn’t enter teams into competitions without your support. From Claire Everett and Rachel Olliver (SNS Sports Leaders)

The Sunnybrae Suns junior basketball team have had a wonderful Semester 1 season! The team have grown so much under Casey’s super positive coaching. It’s been a great experience and really cool to see them all just really enjoying their games each week. A big heartfelt thank you for Casey’s time, expertise and attitude! Coach Casey, Cohen, Jayden, Willow, Raffa, Xander, Myles, Jeddah and missing Timothy. From The Sunnybrae Suns

Hi I am Sebastian Subritzky from R

Drop off is available until Friday 15th of September. Please donate. Thank you. Sebastian
