Sunnybrae Normal School Read-a-thon fundraiser

2023 Sunnybrae Read-a-thon – Online Fundraiser

Dear Parents & Caregivers

Sunnybrae Normal School is excited to be running a Read-a-thon which is linked to the Sunnybrae Normal School Book Week in the third week of Term 4. Book week will include a book character dress up day, a special visitors day and many other fun activities in class and around the school.
A Read-a-thon is a fundraising event whereby students will read over and above what they usually do in exchange for sponsorship by family & family friends. Our students are seeking online sponsorship for their efforts during our Read-a-thon. Students have Bingo sheets that include fun reading challenges, appropriate to their age and reading level, to complete between now and Friday 27th of October.
Reading is a lifelong skill and is an important way for our students to communicate, create and make connections with whānau. Whether you are reading for knowledge, interest, fun or cuddling up with whānau, it is a wonderful experience, whether shared or independent.
The funds raised will help us with our future reading and literacy projects at our school including the purchase of decodable reading books.
Thank you for supporting Sunnybrae Normal School and our students.

How will this fundraiser work? This year we have partnered with online fundraising company, ‘Go Raise It’. Collecting sponsorship online makes it super easy for everyone – no more door knocking, your child can collect more donations from further afield (friends & family living overseas, work colleagues etc) and no need to worry about handling cash!

How do I sign my child up to fundraise online? Each child can sign up for their very own fundraising web page to send out to collect online sponsorship from anyone, anywhere!
· Just go to our Fundraising Hub page at: https://sunnybraereadathon.raiseit.co.nz/hub
· Click on the SETUP A FUNDRAISING PAGE button
If you need any help email help@raiseitfundraising.com for direct assistance

Multiple children in your family? No problem, all children can sit under the same email address. You’ll find a button to set up another page while logged in to the fundraising account you created first.

Do I have to sign up for an online account to fundraise? We would love everyone to have an online account as this allows the school to significantly reduce the administration overhead of collecting and dealing with cash. ‘Go Raise It’ adhere to strict cyber safe guidelines and this is built into our fundraising website. If you do not want an online fundraising page, and still want to participate please contact Jane Sharpe, Deputy Principal to make arrangements for collecting cash (jsharpe@sunnybrae.school.nz)

Prizes
We have a great range of fundraising prizes available including spot prizes and overall fundraising prizes for our year group teams. Please see the Prizes page linked on the Fundraising Hub page of our fundraising website.
